Italchimica ready to embrace the challenges of the new European Pay Transparency Directive
On Saturday 27 September 2025, Verona hosted the second edition of HR UNMASKED, an event organised by the Young Professionals Group of AIDP – the Italian Association for Human Resources Management – which turned the subject of pay transparency into a valuable opportunity for deep reflection on today’s world of human resources.
Italchimica took part with great interest, sharing its experience through the contribution of Ilaria Nalato, the company’s CFO, who provided practical insights on how to manage pay processes in a clear and responsible way. As Ilaria highlighted, pay transparency is not only a legal requirement but also an ethical choice that strengthens dignity and respect for employees.
Italchimica is working towards the full adoption of the principles of European Directive 970/2023, which came into force on 6 June 2023 and must be transposed by 7 June 2026, engaging all corporate functions in order to achieve full compliance as swiftly as possible.
The UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification, now in its third renewal cycle at Italchimica, had already identified potential areas of concern, thus making alignment with the new Directive smoother. Many aspects had already been addressed through transparent policies, clear salary management tools, and continuous monitoring of gender equality.
“Our approach is positive and well balanced,” stressed Ilaria Nalato. “The law helps to highlight what is not corrected spontaneously, but at Italchimica these principles are already embedded in our culture.”
Emotional transparency: communicating with authenticity
HR UNMASKED 2 also explored the theme of emotional transparency, underlining the importance of embracing emotions in all their forms: communicating with sincerity, listening attentively, and managing one’s own and others’ emotions with intelligence and respect. The ability to express empathy, enthusiasm, doubts, or concerns clearly and consistently has become an integral part of modern leadership and of Italchimica’s organisational culture.
Preparing today for tomorrow’s changes
Thanks to this approach, Italchimica has already implemented concrete measures to ensure:
- clarity and fairness in communication with candidates;
- reduction of potential internal gaps and ongoing monitoring of gender equality;
- emotional transparency in all corporate interactions, from interviews to internal communications.
In this way, the company reaffirms its commitment to a culture built on fairness, transparency, and responsibility, turning regulation into an opportunity to enhance people, strengthen leadership, and prevent critical issues.
Italchimica aims to achieve full compliance by March 2026, with the support of specialised external consultants, in order to be able to communicate its complete alignment from that date.
