Italchimica among the 2026 Sustainability Leaders: for the fifth consecutive year among Italy’s ESG excellence

Among the 240 Italian companies recognised in the “Sustainability Leaders 2026” ranking, Italchimica once again confirms its position as one of the country’s most virtuous organisations, being included in the selection for the fifth consecutive year.

This result further consolidates the company’s positioning among Italy’s national ESG leaders and reflects the continuity of a structured journey based on transparency, measurement and the constant improvement of environmental, social and governance performance.

Now in its sixth edition, the ranking is compiled by Statista in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore and analyses more than 2,000 Italian companies through over 35 objective KPIs, integrating data from statutory financial statements and sustainability reports.

Recognition based on rigorous and transparent criteria

Companies are divided into two size categories based on revenue, and the assessment is founded on a comprehensive set of ESG indicators covering:

  • Environment — emissions, energy, water, waste
  • Social — safety, training, diversity, employee management
  • Governance — transparency, stability, growth

In Italchimica’s case, environmental performance highlights particularly solid results, with a very high level across environmental KPIs, especially those related to water management. This starts from the company’s commitment to recycling washing water and developing concentrated formulas to reduce water consumption.

The context: sustainability as an increasingly strategic competitive lever

According to the Il Sole 24 Ore feature published on 20 May 2026, sustainability is no longer merely a matter of regulatory compliance, but is increasingly establishing itself as a concrete driver of innovation and competitive advantage. Companies that integrate ESG principles into their business models are seeing tangible benefits, from access to more favourable credit conditions to greater value generation through efficiency, innovation and entry into new markets.

This evolution confirms that sustainability has now become a structural driver of growth, rather than an accessory element.

Recognition with a forward-looking perspective

For Italchimica, being included once again among the Sustainability Leaders is not a final destination, but a confirmation of direction. It is a commitment that will continue to translate into the development of increasingly efficient industrial processes, product innovation oriented towards sustainability, and the strengthening of ESG governance and transparency.
