Italchimica presents its sixth Sustainability Report: at the core, frugal innovation, emissions, and active engagement
A shared milestone, but above all, a new starting point.
On 31 July, Italchimica presented its sixth Sustainability Report—a document that goes far beyond reporting. It is a concrete testament to the company’s daily commitment to increasingly sustainable, measurable, and inclusive development.
The presentation involved management and department heads in a cross-functional dialogue, rich in data, forward-looking analysis, and above all, pride in the results achieved.
The event opened with Luca Pattarello, Director of Research & Development and Regulatory Affairs, who explored the concept of added value—understood as the distinctive contribution a company can offer compared to its competitors, generating tangible benefits for customers and society, while building a real competitive advantage. This guiding principle also informs Italchimica’s sustainable innovation approach.
The document was presented by Simone Vergari, Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability Officer, who highlighted the importance of frugal innovation—an approach aimed at developing high-value solutions using fewer resources and minimising environmental impact.
The presentation covered all major ESG areas—environmental, social, and governance—painting a picture of a dynamic, aware, and constantly evolving company.
Among the report’s central themes, strong focus was placed on emissions management, now rigorously monitored thanks to ISO 14064-1:2018 certification, which enables precise measurement of environmental impact and more targeted, effective action.
Significant attention was also given to issues prioritised by our stakeholders, as identified through the materiality matrix: water resource protection, use of renewable energy, development of biodegradable products and low-impact packaging, along with the promotion of health and safety in the workplace and continuous employee training.
To further strengthen internal engagement, Italchimica launched a new initiative for all employees: a questionnaire on ESG topics, designed to gather ideas, suggestions, and perspectives to help shape future actions together.
