Italchimica awarded for ESG leadership and commitment to employees and the environment

(Padua, Italy). For the second year running, Italchimica has shown itself to be one of Italy’s top companies in the field of ESG, for its commitment to the environment, society and the workforce. The ranking is based on reporting by Statista, an independent market research institute that specialises in ranking and analysing company data, working in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore.

Almost 2,000 companies examined, drawn from databases of top companies, 200 self-applications. They were all independently assessed against 45 indicators in the three dimensions of sustainability (environmental, social and economic criteria) featured in the sustainability reports and financial statements published.

The analysis took place without any financial consideration and Statista selected the best companies that stood out during the year for their commitment toward employees, the environment and society.

According to Italchimica CEO Alessandro Fioretto: “Today companies are required to take on great responsibilities not only on economic issues but also on environmental ones, governance and matters related to the welfare of their employees and the community. At Italchimica we strive every day to make chemistry a strategic catalyst to improve people’s quality of life, protecting resources and the planet, which is why I am really proud of this award.

The recognition by Il Sole 24 Ore and Statista confirms Italchimica’s growing commitment in all sustainability areas to pursue the sustainable development goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.

As certified in the latest Sustainability Report drawn up according to the GRI – Global Reporting Initiative standards, Italchimica has achieved important results in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. For example, the decrease in the use of water resources by providing concentrated solutions and upcycling actions to avoid wasting this important resource. It also completely eliminated microplastics from its formulas, provided an 18% reduction in direct emissions and on the packaging side of its products it uses at least 30% recycled plastic in each bottle and has introduced a refill for its hand wash mainly made of cellulosic material.
